GEMINI congratulates to Container Terminal of Port of Koper and involved business partners, whose work justifies the reputation of the most important container terminal in the Adriatic, it is an important milestone for Port of Koper – a historic accomplishment, a 1.000.000 TEU in 2022.
The Koper Container Terminal has undergone significant investment over the past few years, because of the extended quayside, and additional stacking areas were completed. The most recent development was the installation of some additional STS cranes, and all the investments were made while the terminal was fully operational is a success in and of itself.
This project will be heavily reliant on the continued growth in container throughput and the high level of productivity building more stacking spaces on Pier I’s northern end, buying more shore cranes, expanding the rail yard of the terminal, increasing the storage space at the terminal’s hinterland location, and buying various handling tools. The past growth of containers in Koper and the evaluation of the market potential of our hinterland markets show that the containerization trend is still prevalent according to global logistic trends. The company will be able to maintain its competitive advantages thanks to the capacity increase, which will meet the expectations of shipowners and other port users.
